Just started using GenerateBlocks and followed Mike Oliver’s videos but can’t get merge content or full width to work.
I’ve created a header element and selected merge with content. I’ve also created a layout element with full width selected for content area. But neither is working.
Thanks for any insight. I’m still a beginner as you can guess.
May 5, 2020 at 9:30 am #1270836LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
For the header element issue, remove the Off set site header height value you’ve added:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/#offset-site-header-heightThen also remove the padding values:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/#paddingThe full width container layout is indeed working but you have a GB container with
max-width: 1440px
andpadding: 40px
added:

But I can’t find that GB container anywhere, looking as closely as possible at the screenshot you gave. I’ve examined all the blocks in GB, in html too, and just can’t spot that. Can you give further clues? Thanks.
May 5, 2020 at 11:31 am #1271010LeoStaffCustomer SupportLooks like you were able to remove the 40px padding from the container when comparing the previous code:
https://www.screencast.com/t/nJupojIiv2To this one:

Let me know if this helps π
May 5, 2020 at 11:53 am #1271041JonathanWell, I give up, but thanks for your help. Obviously I need to stick with a page builder for a while longer!
May 5, 2020 at 11:55 am #1271043LeoStaffCustomer SupportI can try to find it if you provide the dashboard access.
You can send the dashboard access using Account Issue here:

May 5, 2020 at 12:13 pm #1271061LeoStaffCustomer SupportTry this:
1. https://www.screencast.com/t/OPjQX8A6yZ
2. If you want the picture to be full width, then the inner container should be full width as well. Then remove the Container width of 1440:
https://www.screencast.com/t/VgC4M5sylThen you will need a bigger picture with a minimum width of 2000px.
May 5, 2020 at 12:34 pm #1271082JonathanThat works okay but not as I remember full width pictures working. Even replacing with a 2000px picture, it is full width until the window reaches 2000, and then it’s not. I just checked some other sites I’ve built and the hero stretches out as far as I go.
I do appreciate all your help, but I’m just not savvy enough for this and will stick with Elementor until the pro version of GenerateBlocks makes its debut. (So get cracking’ : )
