cant replace home page hero image in "service" theme

I want to replace this image with my own.
"url":"https://gpsites.co/service/wp-content/uploads/sites/58/serviceman-1200x675.jpg"

when I edit the home page and add my own image link using code editor,
my image shows ok in the editing screen (using block editor not classic).

when I preview it, the old image shows up.
when I save the post the old image shows up.
when I use a private window the old image shows up.
when I reboot my computer the old image shows up.

I also edited the home page element and added the new image as a custom image.
No dice still shows the engineering ruler image under the gradient.

Any help appreciated, this has me stumped...
