Can't remove author and published date from homepage and blog page

I went to Customize > Layout > Blog, and removed display author and display date. But it's still showing in both homepage and blog page. I'm using Volume theme. It says "This page is using a Content Template Element. Some of the options below may not apply.". I went to the Content Template Element but can't find any options to remove author and dates. Help please!

I believe the post meta is added using a block element post meta:

You can find them in Dashboard > Appearance > Elements.

I did go there and there were a few pages, and went to "First Post Template" and "Single Post Hero". I can see the author and date template block there, but how do I edit or remove it?
Simply click on them then select remove like any other blocks.
