Hi! The element for the blog post header appears set up correctly in the Appearance-Elements section, but my blog posts are not showing the featured image (necessary for the white text top menu to show up). Not sure what’s going on but would love help if possible. Thanks!

    Hi there,

first off the Header Element needs some Top and Bottom Padding to increase its height.
    And a couple of questions:

    1. has the Header Element Background Image been set to Featured Image?
    2. does the Post have a Featured Image ?

Hi! Yes the header element background image is set to featured image. And yes the post does have a featured image.

I edited the padding to match the global page header but don’t see any change when I do that.

    Thanks!

I’m actually not seeing any padding added in the header element.

Can you confirm? What values are you using?

Any caching plugins or server cache?

I have padding added in the Header element — 220px top, 20px right, 140px bottom, 20px left.

I tried doing custom image instead of featured image and it still won’t show an image at the top. I also unchecked background overlay. Can’t seem to get an image to show up at all.

Can you purge and disable SG cache for now?

I also have a feeling that you have a conflict in display rules somewhere:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/conflicting-display-rules/

Can you set all the header elements to Draft status and only keeping the one we are working on here activated?

Purged cache and disabled plugin. I put all header elements to draft but still not getting the featured image to load: https://staging1.mammothrealestateblog.com/2020/12/mammoth-real-estate-qa-undervalued-and-underappreciated.html The change was just from disabling the empty/transparent header element.

    Sorry I’m a little confused.

So the issue here is that the featured images for single posts are not showing?

If so can you make sure it’s set to display in the customizer?

I can’t get the featured images to load as the header images for single blog posts. So on this page, there’s no featured image header: https://staging1.mammothrealestateblog.com/2020/08/mammoth-brokers-report-august-2020.html

I have the header set up as Full Width – Contained – Right – 220px top/20px right/140px bottom/20px left padding, background image set to Featured Image, background position center. For display it’s set to Location Post – All Posts.

The only other header elements that I have are Home Page Empty Header (this applies to entire site) and Global Page Headers (Entire Site EXCEPT Front Page, Blog, Page: Home, Page: Blog, Post-All Posts). If I exclude posts from Home Page Empty Header, it just turns the background dark blue and still doesn’t show the featured image.

Every post has a featured image set since this was used as the header image on our old theme.

Let me know what else you might suggest – thanks a bunch!

I believe this is the issue – I believe I’m seeing this header element in the post you’ve linked.

Can you set the header element to draft first?

That empty page header is now in draft. All it does is make the header dark blue. https://staging1.mammothrealestateblog.com/2020/12/mammoth-real-estate-qa-marketing-and-dispersed-thinking.html Still no sign of the featured image.

There is no code for the page hero currently.

Do you have a page hero that is using Post > All posts for the display rules?

AH! I finally figured it out. It was that I didn’t have anything in the text editor box. I added in <h1>{{post-title}}<h1> and it’s not working. Woohoo, thanks!
