Hi,

I have tried everything I know but can't hide the navigation or the footer widgets on the posts feed page, although it is turned "off" or disabled - please see screen shot. The disable works on every other post, including regular posts and pages, but for some reason it will not turn off on the /blog page where all of the post teasers are fed.

here is the link to the page and the rest of the site is fine

Here are some screen shots

There is also nothing in the widgets area so it's not widgets either

please help

Thanks

Hi there,

WordPress ignores all metabox values on index pages (blog, archive) by default.

Are you looking to remove primary navigation and footer widgets for the entire site?

Let me know :)

HI Leo,

Thanks for your response.

No we would like granular control - to remove them from the blog index page for sure - but other index pages, possibly need them removed because there is no use for them -they are distracting on those pages - how do we remove the footer widget areas from showing and the navigation on the blog index page? That is the only one I am concerned about right now.

Thanks for your help

Hello, Leo. This doesn't seem to do anything currently. Has there been any change on this solution?

All the best,

Alo

To remove it from the Blog - you will need to select Blog in the Layout Element > Display Rules.

Yep, tried that. Nothing happened, despite emptying Autoptimize cache etc. But I found that disabling Mobile header from customizer worked, it's just that that specific solution is site-wide, not restricted to blog archive. Still, this worked for me, so thanks I guess :)

The layout element should definitely work.

Maybe we are a bit confused about your requirement.

We can take a closer look if you can open a new topic and link us to the page in question.

Thanks!

I'm using the "Health" theme from the GeneratePress Site Library. I have created a secondary menu to appear on my Blog Archive & Posts page. I want to use the secondary menu instead of the primary menu on these pages, and have spent quite a bit of time looking for the answer in your support forum. Responses keep leading to the Elements section; however, the Elements section does not give me a blog-archive or post option.

Can you open a new topic for your question?

Thanks :)
