Robin
Hey there,
I added IBM Plex Serif to my fonts, however when I try and make the body text bold it doesn’t get applied.
Any ideas how I can do this? Many thanks.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Can you clear and disable your caching plugin first?
Please always do this when posting a topic here.
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportHmm the code for the body tag is showing that
font-weight: 400;
is applied:
https://www.screencast.com/t/g7GE4A3rIs that not what you customizer setting is?
Is it working in customizer preview?

No, customizer says ‘normal’, see https://www.screencast.com/t/x4MvPrIxhSxA
Any ideas?
December 4, 2019 at 3:53 pm #1093794Leo
StaffCustomer SupportNormal usually means 400.
What happens if you change it to 700? Aren’t you trying to make it bold?

Nope, what I meant was that when I bold words or sentences, they don’t show bold, just normal, see https://www.screencast.com/t/vnEZ8BOF

Following up on this. I now actually need the font to bold when I use
<strong>xxx</strong>
.See the first paragraph here – https://www.foragingcourses.com/
Although in other browsers the bold words show up, they still don’t in Chrome.
Yet this guy uses the same font and his bold words show up in chrome, see https://tinylittlebusinesses.com/products/autoresponder-madness/v2/.
If someone could help me out I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi David
No there are no Varients showing see https://www.screencast.com/t/KH6smsDLw7
And I have this in the Snippets plugin settings – https://www.screencast.com/t/WpX8osaapXB
After following these instructions – https://docs.generatepress.com/article/customizing-the-google-font-list/#adding-your-google-font-to-the-list
Cheers

StaffCustomer SupportWhat happens if you use the Filter Tom provides here:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/full-library-google-fonts-is-not-loaded/#post-561188
If the varient list then displays we can see check whether the 700 varient is available for Chrome to use in the Customizer Preview.
