Cannot update to Premium 1.6 Beta on localhost

I have a local dev site running Premium. I added the beta snippet into functions.php and duly saw the notice offering me to upgrade to beta. However, when I click the 'Install Update Now' button, nothing happens. Nothing in console to suggest why the button is non-responsive either. Any ideas?

Hi there,

So when you go into the "Plugins" are and click the Update Now link under the plugin name, nothing happens at all?

Under the plugin the message says "There is a new version of GP Premium available. View version 1.6-beta.1 details. Automatic update is unavailable for this plugin."

I click to view the version details then click the 'Install Update Now' button and nothing happens.
