Hi

In the first container on my home page (the page hero), there is a background image of oranges. I can see it when previewed via my wordpress dashboard, but it is not showing when I log into the site via a browser. I have tried it on 2 PCs and mobile.
Thank you.

Hi there,

the background image URL is 404ing.
If you Right Click > Inspect the page you will see the missing image has the wrong URL

Hi David

Hope you are well.
Forgive my ingnorance, but when I right click to inspect, the background image appears as:

background-image: linear-gradient(0deg, rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.1), rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.53));

When I look in the block editor, under

Backgrounds
Image URL

the url appears as the link below (a picture of an orange tree).

I do not understand why the image is not showing up in the browser as the URL in the block editor is correct?

Hi Pauline,

The background image link is using the staging site as domain:

You'll need to update your site links after the site go live.

You can give this plugin a try: https://wordpress.org/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/

Let me know if you need further assistance :)

Thank you very much Ying.
As the site is still very small, could I just delete the image and re-upload it?

Hi there,

yes, that would be the best way to go... i would recommend changing the original filename a little, as WP likes to cache old image names just to cause more headaches.

Thanks David, and also for the very helpful tip about changing the filename - I'm sure knowing this will save me a lot of headache in the future!

You're welcome!
