Cannot change font color for individual words

Hi,
There are two issues.
1. Since WordPress 5.9 update, I cannot change the font color for individual words. I looked around and it seems to be a common issue and I'm assuming there isn't much you can do to fix it. Link to the discussion.
2. When I try to select the color from the GP global colours, some of the colours apply while the others do not. Why is that? See screenshot.
Thank you.
Hi there,
Would the highlight option still work?

Any chance you can link us to the page in question?
You can use the private information field:

Let me know :)
Hi Leo,
Login details are provided below. It's not subject to a specific page, it's across all of WordPress.
Yes, the Headline option allows you to change the text colour, but you can't isolate for a specific word to change colour.
Try selecting the red, green, or purple from the global highlight colours option and it won't be applied.

Have you tried the highlight option as I suggested above?

I should clarify. Headline works as intended even for the single highlight for text colour, but for regular long-form paragraphs I'm not able to isolate or pick the colour I want.
Hi there,
yeah thats a core bug by the looks of it - and theres nothing we can do to resolve core issues.
For reference the Git Issue raised for it is here:
Understood. I'll use Headline to work around this issue in the meantime.
Thank you both for your time!
You're welcome
