Can not setup a home page properly with Broadcast theme
5 replies · Started by Musti on May 1, 2022
Hi I am using Broadcast theme, I want to do two things:
Currently homepage is blog page but I want to create my own custom home page.
But when I create a new page to create a new home page I have a white space that I can not disable (screenshot-1: https://ibb.co/G01N0fz).
I also want to be able to overlap sections as in screenshot-2: https://ibb.co/8sG4YW1)
Please help me do that.
PS: not a developer
Thanks.
Hi there,
Your 1st screenshot doesn't work, can you check?
Can you link me to your homepage and point me to where I should be looking at?
The overlap needs some custom CSS, can you link me to your blog page?
Thanks!
Hi Ying, my website: https://bedbugsremovalguide.com/
Home page is set to blog page but I want to cerate a custom homepage as I explained in my original ticket.
I also has problem with mobile view (see attached 3. screenshot): hero overlaps my post featured image/post header? This is your themes default view.
I can send you my login if you need to?

Thanks.
Hi there,
can you share a link to the new home page you're creating ?
Hi David, https://bedbugsremovalguide.com/home-draft/
thanks
Ok so i would suggest you:
1. Set the Content Container to Full Width:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/
This will provide you with a full width page without any theme padding.
2. Now construct your page using the GenerateBlocks Container Block.
Each Container Block you should:
a. add some left and right padding ( and top and bottom padding as needed).
b. adjust its inner width if you require a different width sections on the page.
c. leave the background color to allow the Body background to show through
d. then you can use negative top margins on the first container to drag it over your Hero section.
