caching issue - recommendation

Hi there, I used two different caching plugins - W3 total cache + WP fastest cache and with both I did a have a problem of caching. Changes did not appear on the frontside. For example I exchanged images, the old images stayed visible unless I cleared the cache on my other devices manually. But without caching everything works - new images appear without problems.
Wordpress health check recommends to use a caching plugin. Do you recommend to use one? If yes which one is good which also complies with the GDPR. Thanks for your help.
Sorry forgot to mention website: https://yogastudio-nanda.de/
At the moment I have deactivated the W3 total cache.
Hi there,
as a general rule, don't use more than one cache/otpimization plugin.
and if you're working on your sites design, then i recommend disabling them whilst you're doing so. It will save you a lot of headaches.
in regards to GDPR you would need to check with the plugin author in regards to that.
as you have 2 plugins already, choose one of them, either will do as they both do the same thing. And then spend a little time configuring it, there are plenty of tutorials online.
Hello David, Thank you. Your answer helps me a lot.
You're welcome.
If I may add my 2 cents: W3 total cache is very difficult to configure properly. I would avoid it, if you're not really an experienced user. I found "Cache Enabler" to be quite good and easy to use. In addition to that: always test site performance after enabling caching. A poorly configured caching plugin often makes things worse. If the performance is not significantly better (or even worse) with caching, don't use it.
I would add that using an incognito or private tab is a good habit while developing too.
Absolutely. In addition to that, the clear-cache shortcut is your friend. On Windows in Chrome it's STRG+F5. I use it daily at least 500 times. :-) For me, this is the more convenient workflow with all extensions and logins active.
Thanks for the additional advice.
Thanks guys really appreciate the input!
