Broadcast theme: Post header image and post details

Hi there,
I'm looking into 'Broadcast' theme and the home page, where posts are displayed. Question is whether it's possible to use font based icon with the plain background in the header, and also to include a partial post paragraph bellow the title.

The only plugin I've seen that does this is this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-featured-font-icon/
However, it hasn't been updated in a while, unfortunately.
You could probably go a custom field route with a Hook Element. For example, add a custom field where you add the SVG icon, then hook that custom field into the post.
