I don't want new posts to be shown on the broadcast theme homepage. I have certain posts that I want to remain on the front page. How would I go about doing that?

You'd need to create a static page and use a plugin like WP Show Posts:

You could also try using multiple sticky posts but I'm 100% sure if that will work:
