Broadcast theme blog excerpt

Hi guys,
I'm trying to prevent the blog's excerpt from showing up - modified the values into customize>layout>blog but no matter which number I give, it still comes up. I'd like to have it just like in the Broadcast theme demo - for some reason, I can't manage it.
Any suggestions, please?
