Hi since yesterday I’ve noticed some images on my blog are now blurry or grainy. Obviously when I’ve uploaded them they were ok, the reader can clearly look at them. But now it’s a disaster. A lot of photo in many articles are grainy and if I tried to upload them again the result is always the same. The photo are made with different devices (different cameras, different mobile-phones, different moments, different size, and different resolution). Most of the time even if I completely change the image, I replace it with another new image, it remains grainy. Maybe after 10 times if I’m lucky the photo is clear.
What’s happen? Now it’s really and hard job to try to replace all the images without the knowing if they will be clear again. Could you please help me?
I’m using GP Premium 1.7.7January 21, 2019 at 8:53 am #788069Leo
StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Have you tried #1 here to eliminate any plugin conflicts?
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/Nothing has changed in GP theme or premium yesterday 🙂
Let me know.

Hi Leo, i mean I’ve noticed it yesterday but i don’t know since when it begun, the precise moment. I think it’s because of the new wordpress updating, and maybe there is a conflict with the theme

And yes I’ve tried to eliminate any plugin conflict without any solution. Currently all the plugin are deactivated and the problem is still there.

StaffCustomer SupportHmm a problem this obvious we would’ve noticed it by now.
And the problem wasn’t there when I checked your site before.
Looks like something is adding inline style to your pictures:
https://www.screencast.com/t/WR8KpGZubxCan you quickly switch over to a WP twenty series themes to eliminate theme issue?
Thanks!

You mean I need to switch over to a WP twenty series themes, like Twenty-Nineteen, and the issue will eliminate by itself?
January 21, 2019 at 10:26 am #788178Leo
StaffCustomer SupportI don’t think the issue will resolve when you switch to a WP twenty series theme.
It’s a step to test whether if it’s indeed a GP issue or not.

Ok I’ve changed the theme to Twenty series and I think the problem is still there.

StaffCustomer SupportYup so that means it’s not an issue coming from GP.
Have you checked with the issue I noted here?
https://www.screencast.com/t/WR8KpGZubxIt should be the cause.

Thanks. You are very kind. But i can not understand the issue you have noted, what is strange in that line?
January 21, 2019 at 12:52 pm #788319Leo
StaffCustomer SupportThe green arrow is pointing to the inline style that’s setting the width of the picture.
I can’t tell how it was added. Perhaps from a plugin.
If you remove that from the HTML then it should work.
You could also try re-adding the picture.

Thanks for your reply. The problem is that this issue is present not only in this article, but in many other articles. If I try to re-adding the pics most of the time the result will be a blurry/granny image same as know.

StaffCustomer SupportUnfortunately, there is no other way I can think of to fix this.
You can also go into the HTML and remove the styles that are setting the height and width.
Did you add the images using WordPress add media?
https://codex.wordpress.org/Inserting_Media_into_Posts_and_PagesIt should say the height and width when you are adding them.

Hi, yes I’ve add the images using WordPress add media. For each photo, I choose each time height and width, usually width around 650-700px.

StaffCustomer SupportThat’s the problem.
The original images are very small. For example:
