Blog set up

Hi,
I am new to Generate Press and wanted to know if there is anything I am missing after having set up my first site before I start hacking.
I have three issues with the blog that I can't seem to fix using settings - These are probably simple when you knwo how.
1. Blog Archive title is 'Blog' - Not News as I have set it up.
2. Featured images not displaying since I added the 'page hero' element to single posts.
3. I don't seem to be able to remove the excerpt from archives page - I.e. I simply want image and title and meta to display.
Hi there,
1. Are you using the {{post_title}} template tag for that? If so it won't work for the blog page.
As for now you'd need to create a separate page hero and use a manual title instead:

News

2. Is it set to display in the customizer for Posts?

3. So it's currently set to 0 in the customizer?

Hey Cheers Leo!
1. Great thanks ;)
2. Yes. They do not display in the post since I added the element (page hero
3. Yes set to '0' but displaying full page?
?!
2. That's very strange. Just tested with a header element and it didn't hide the featured image:

So the featured image shows up if you remove the header element?
If so can you let me know what your setting is in the customizer here?

3. This post listed 3 reasons why the excerpt option isn't working:

Can you check if any of them apply to your case?
Let me know :)
2. Screen grab:

3. All three checked. No joy.
?!
Hi there,
2. Edit the Header Element - and select a Background Image, you should then see the Disable Featured Image option - is this checked ? If so uncheck it.
3. Do you have any plugins or custom functions that you can try disabling to see if there is a conflict?
Hi David,
2. Cool thanks. Need to fix some styling issues but there it is ;)
3. Only the standard recommended plugins were active. All deactivated and problem solved. Switched back on one by one and didn't break again. Annoying butt fixed.
Thanks ;)
Awesome - #3.... thats an odd one. But glad to hear its resolved.
Thanks to both of you!
You're welcome - glad we can be of help
