If I have the blog set to show full post there is no issue but when I change it to show excerpt the images do not show and when you click the link or the title you get a page not found error.

Excerpts remove all HTML, including images.
If you want to include line images/HTML in your excerpts, you need to use the more tag: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-more-tag/
I'm also not seeing the page not found error. Here is what I see:
