Hello,

I have discussed this kind of topic here, but I did realize, that this way did not work for me.

I actually use the marketer site theme. But I want a Post View like this: https://share-your-photo.com/13e8d11e5d

Images and Tables should be more wide as the text.

How can I do this?

Or have some upcoming Blog Layouts this feature? If so, I would wait for that.

Hmm, I don´t understand your answer. What about GPP? What do I have to do there?

And what about my last question?

Nothing you need to do in GPP.

You can set the content container layout to full so that GB containers have complete control.

Or have some upcoming Blog Layouts this feature? If so, I would wait for that.

No that's not something we would add to GP.

But in GPP the text is as wide as the container. How can Images then be wider than a container?

Yes I have installed and tried it. But As I mentioned above, the text is as wide as the container. How can Images then be wider than a container?

Look, I don´t want to put all my text on every post and page in such a GB Container. I want to write normally in the normal Gutenberg Editor.

But now and then, I want to insert a Table or an Image, which is wider then the text, like in the image i send.

I have seen this on many Wordpress Websites and Themes. And they don´t use GB Plugin.

Hi there,

place the Content that you want wider than the other text inside a GB Container Block or a core Group Block. With the block selected, in the Block Toolbar select the Wide Width. This will extend the block to the site containers edges.

You can also do this with any block without the container, for example an Image Block.

Hi David,

can you explain what the site container is? Because in the container documentation i can not find a site container.

Is this the container, where the text sits in?

the site-container is the HTML element that contains your post content. You don't need to add it or do anything, the theme outputs this.
When you add padding to the Customizer > Layout > Container, the padding gets added to the inside of this element.

The Wide Width option in the block editor simply excludes the padding from the width of the block.

Is this including sidebar, or only the content? I guess this will only works without sidebar.

With the padding, I can set the width of the content (text, etc.)?

So, the wider elements use the space from the padding from the container?

So I have to smaller the text, with padding, to have some space for wider elements?

Yes, the effect is best displayed on a Post without Sidebars.
Yes, the padding will affect the width of the content.

For example if my Container Width ( no sidebar ) is set to 800px. And i have 40px left and right container padding. Then the post content will be 720px wide. And the Wide Width element will be 800px wide.

Okay, thanks, slowly it is getting clear.

Are there recommended values for container width and padding?

And is it possible, to have a homepage with sidebar, but posts with a layout we are here discussing?
