Hello. I'd like to reduce the width of my blog post content (featured image/headers/paragraphs) to 800px within the larger 1136px container. For this example page, it would keep the overall grey background and the full white container, but reduce the post to 800px width for better readability.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Brent,

The best option to create a custom layout like this one is to create a Block Element Content Template for single posts:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/

This way you can use GB's container to control all the paddings and widths etc:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/sizing-options-overview/
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/spacing-overview/

You can use GP's dynamic blocks to output the post content and featured image in the content template:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/dynamic-blocks/

Let me know if this helps :)

Thanks, those links helped me figure it out.

No problem :)
