Blog is suddenly showing up as many columns

Hello,
I am using the Marketer Theme for my https://gohydrology.org site. Over the past few days, I switched it from having a home page and using a lot of WP-Show-Post to display blog posts in various spots, but recently in a bid to simplify the site, I switched back to having the blog as the home page. While working on the sidebar column (i.e. combining html blocks so it didn't look so blocky), this happened: On the front blog page, my blog started appearing as multiple (5+) columns, instead of one singular column scroll. At first, I thought this was just a visualization issue in the customizer, as once I left the customizer the single column returned. However, this morning, I see in going to the site that the home page (https://gohydrology.org) is indeed just as it showed in the customizer last night -- 5+ very narrow columns. No other pages are affected.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks, Bob
P.S. In my customizer, my columns are set to "single" (i.e. the columns box is not checked)
Note: I figured out the problem. I used Siloloquy to add a slider within a blog post. For some reason, that triggered the entire blogroll to turn into 5+ columns. As soon as I disabled the Siloloquy plugin, it went back to a single column. I have Siloloquy sliders all over my blog, so that led me to the thought it was the one particular slider that I added to the blog post. To check that, I simply deleted the slider from the blog post and reactivated Siloloquy -- and the site continued to work (i.e. as a single column). Side note: I like Siloloquy, but despite it being a very GDRP compliant plugin, it seems a bit "glitchy." It doesn't always render everywhere like I'd want it.
Do you have any recommendations for sliders in general?
Is the next generation of GP Blocks going to be able to do sliders?
Thanks again, Bob
Hi there,
glad to hear you found the issue.
Sliders - i have used Meta Slider in the past, and that was ok, so its about the only one i can recommend from personal experience. But i generally find they all slow a site down something terribly and most visitors ignore them lol
Sliders in GenerateBlocks is one of the interaction add ons will be looking at in a future version of GB Pro.
Thanks David.
Can I keep a few strategic sliders, or is it best to remove them completely, i.e. for performance? ... in your opinion.
Bob
If i was purely performance focused then i would probably get rid of all of them, but that can make for a very boring site. So a few strategic ones would be great.
Thanks David - Just glad I resolved it ... and didn't have to revert to a previous backup version of the site. Now that I re-organized the site, I may move away from them completely. Thanks again
You're welcome Bob!
