blog excerpts not displaying

Hello, I am using the Wordsmith template. The customizer blog layout is set up to show excerpts, but they are not displaying either on the front page using Show Posts or on the blog page. The posts are standard, and I’m not using custom excerpts or the more tag.

Can't see any obvious causes here.

It's definitely working in the default Wordsmith template:

Any chance you can try disabling all plugins to eliminate any conflicts?

Hi Leo,
I have deactivated all the plugins except GP Premium and the excerpts are still not displaying. Any ideas?

Can you make sure the excerpt word count and read more label is not empty in the customizer like this?

Hi there,

Is your "Excerpt" metabox in each post empty? It looks like they may be full of empty spaces.

If you delete those spaces, the excerpt should appear.
