[Resolved] Blog Excerpt Formatting

Good morning.

I noticed that the formatting in my blog post excerpts doesn’t match the full post when you click “Read More.”

For example, if a third word in the first sentence is italicized in the full post, it’s NOT italicized in the excerpt.

Any solutions to this issue?

Hi there,

automatic excerpts, WordPress strips the HTML.
Can i see your blog page so i can see how the excerpts are being generated and i can provide the correct solution.

Some examples:

— In today’s full post, “Extinct Positive Ions,” 1st sentence, 6th word, not is italicized. No italics in the excerpt.

— In the “Courtesy Camels” post, 2nd paragraph, courtesy camels is italicized but not in the excerpt.

— In the “2 Mullets in a Pod” post, BREAKING NEWS: Cameron Smith Joins LIV Golf is in bold face but not in the excerpt.

The simplest option is to use this plugin:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-excerpt/

It will give you a lot more control over what gets displayed in the excerpt.
