Block element no longer displaying on front page

Hi,

I have a simple block element (generate_after_header) set to display on the entire site. (It's just two buttons in a container).

It was working and then suddenly decided to display on just two pages.

This is the second time it's done this, so I thought I'd reach out to ask why - so I can stop it happening in future.

To fix it, last time - I deleted the old Block Element and set up a new one.

We're only using Generatepress and Generateblocks.

Thanks
Laura

Hi Laura,

When things like this happen, its usually related to display rule location conflict between the Block Elements of the same type(except for Hook type).

If this is a Block Element - Page hero, please make sure there's no other Block Element - Page hero as "Entire Site" will 100% conflict with every other Block Element - Page heros.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

We only have one of each block type.

We have the following set up:

Appointment bar: Block hook (generate_after_header) - Entire site (all users) ** This is the one that stopped working.

Contact page: Hook (wp_footer) - page: Contact page

Page hero: Block - page hero - page (exclusions page: contact us, appointments, front page)

NB: Even if I put the other elements into draft - it's still not working.

Hi there,

on the Appointment Bar block, can you remove the User rule, just leave it empty. So the only setting is Location: Entire Site.

Then clear any caches.

Tried that :) Still no joy.

I did figure out what was causing the issue though. As usual, it's a classic user error.

The container had been set to "no featured image" - which is why it wasn't showing on any pages with a featured image.

Thanks for helping me work through that! :)

Haha - ok thats caught me out a couple of times. Perhaps we need to improve the UI there. Glad to hear you got it resolved.
