This is a two part question:

My site is about 700 pages and most pages will have anywhere from 2-6 jpg images.

    1. What is the best compression plug-in to use so that I don’t slow everything down?

    2. What photo gallery plug-in works best with GP?

    Thanks everyone

    Hi Cristo,

    1. Did a bit of research and here is what I find:
This one has the most active installs with lots of reviews: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/
These two doesn’t have nearly as many active installs but good reviews:
    https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/shortpixel-image-optimiser/
    https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/kraken-image-optimizer/

    2. I would recommend using the native WordPress galleries:

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, Leo. I already had wp-smushit, just wanted to be sure it was the best choice, so you have confirmed it.

I had heard that envira gallery was good, but I will check out the native WordPress galleries.

I am trying to make everything as simple as possible…the KISS method.

    You’re welcome 🙂

Generally I find the reviews on WordPress pretty reliable but there might also be some sneaky good ones out there.

WordPress galleries is definitely the simplest way to go – no plugin required!

I will check it out. Somewhere I thought I had read earlier that Tom said most gallery plug-ins are poorly coded, slow, boated, etc, so I want to be sure I pick a good one. If you think the WP gallery is Ok then I will probably go with them.
