Background thumbnail repeat not working

I created Container > Open Background > Upload Image URL set Image Size to Thumbnail and Repeat.
The small background images goes full size (even when I set to Thumbnail) and does not Repeat.
I tried also with Advanced - result is the same.
What should I do?

Can you check if the container's background size is set to cover?
This particular property is in conflict with repeat most of the time as 1 instance of the image will try to cover all the view-able space of the element.
