background on mobile menu

I know this should be easy to solve, but I have been working on this for several days. My mobile menu on my site has a dark background even when I go in and change the color. The menu items do not show since the text is the same color as the background. I want white background and black text, but whatever changes I make don't seem to work. If I scroll over the mobile menu, then the individual items do show, but I want them all to show. I am using GP Premium, latest version. Like I said, probably some simple mistake in the customizer but nothing I try seems to work.

Hi Leo...thanks for your help.....getting closer. The mobile menu now shows, but when I highlight one of the menu items the background changes to dark blue. I am sure it is just another setting. Also, when I look at my navigation panel that is says choose initial color. Unfortunately have to leave and won't be back until tomorrow so will just wait for your response.
Did you check the hover color?
