Background color under footer

I have created a website design with white background color for body and content and a color for footer. In fact, I have started from your Site Library's "Search".
But I have realized that the footer has a finite height, so when there is not much content on a web page, I get a white color after the footer.
Is it possible to have the same color as the footer after the footer (a kind of infinite footer)?

not really :) - but we could provide some CSS to force the footer to the bottom of the browser viewport.
Can you share a link to a page where you have the problem so i can take look.
