Back-to-top Button Scroll Effect for Menu Items

Hello,

I have a "One-Pager" Website where the Menu Items point to HTML-anchors on the website.
When I click on a Menu Item it just jumps to the place where I have set the anchor.

Would it be possible to add the nice movement of the "Back-to-top Button" to my menu items, so it "scrolls down" when the users clicks on a menu item.

I tried it with adding "transition: opacity 300ms ease-in-out;" to the menu items, but not sure if this is all that I need.

Anyone an idea how I could solve this?
