Would it be possible to set sidebars to not appear at all, if no widgets are set for them?

Because I often use the Display Widgets plugin to control what pages a particular widget shows up on, or for what role. And sometimes this means that there should be no widgets at all on a certain page's sidebar. But GeneratePress shows the Search and Archives widgets if no other widgets are set.

At the very least, can I do anything to make GeneratePress just show an empty Sidebar, rather than populating it with widgets I haven't chosen?

You can set those pages that don't have any widgets to have no sidebar while editing the page: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/choosing-sidebar-layouts/

Removing the sidebar if no widgets are set seems like a good idea, but I can see a lot of confusion that might happen as well as people would have the option set to display a sidebar but not have anything show up.

Something for me to think about :)
