Auto-populating post title in headline block

Hi,

In my quest to remove Elementor and solely depend on Gutenberg, Generatpress, and Generateblocks I have a question that I hope you can help with.

I've built my posts in Elementor and made an Elementor template that makes it quick to set-up new posts.

This includes the following top section:

- Image element - which automatically select the featured image of the post
- Title element - which automatically inputs the post title

I'm then free to move this around if I like (move the title above the image or vice verca).

I don't find any way of doing the same with Gutenberg / Generateblocks only.

So my question is: Is there a way to set a "headline block" to automatically display the post title?

I'm also looking for a way to have an image block automatically display the featured image. But that's not relevant here as Generateblocks doesn't include an image block.

The reason for is purely that it will be a time-saver - and I don't want to be locked up to always having the "title" on top / featured image on the top.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi there,

to do that would required dynamic data blocks in the post editor - we have this planned for a GenerateBlocks Pro update in the future.

In the meantime you may want to check out GPP 2.0 Theme building:

https://generatepress.com/introducing-the-gp-theme-builder/

You could create two (or more) different templates for your heading / image position and apply them using different display rules.
