Lisa
Hello,
On a site I built with GP theme & GP premium w/ GenerateBlocks a couple of years ago, I have over 40 posts. Today we added a couple more posts and the check box to choose the author has disappeared.

I’ve cleared the cache and disabled plugins and this option is still missing. I haven’t seen this before.
Any recommendations?
Thank you,
Lisa

I think that was an error, I haven’t been able to get the author to show up when editing a post.
Any ideas?
Thank you 🙂

StaffCustomer SupportSo thats good …. but also a little confusing. As there is no setting ( that i know of ) that disables the Author option in the editor. Its not a theme thing, and its not included in the Panel Preferences (3 dot menu in editor top bar). It generally only doesn’t show if you’re editing a Post Type that has no Author Support or if there is only one User with a Author ( or higher Role ).
Try logging into the site using an Incognito browser in case a cookie got scrambled.

Yes, I’m grateful we can still edit the author through the quick edit feature. When I built this site a couple of years ago, the author button was there. We have three admins on the site and it has been many months since a post was added. It is the first time I realized the author button was missing. I’ve tried the incognito browser w/ no success – the author checkbox is still missing.

StaffCustomer SupportCan you first check for plugin conflicts, by temporarily disabling all plugins.
If that’s still an issue then can you provide us with a temporary admin login and we can take a look. You can share the user login details if appropriate in the Private Information field.April 29, 2022 at 1:14 pm #2204360Lisa
Hi David,
I deactivated all the plugins w/ the same result. I’ll need to get the client’s permission before giving out temporary admin access. Due to vacations/conferences, it will be several weeks. Would it be better for your workflow if I close this ticket and start again later?
Thank you
