[Resolved] Author Box – E-Mail Address

i’am trying to build an author box with dynamic content.
i followed this tutorial by leo:

i found the “post author name” and “post date”, but how do i get the email of the author?

Hi there,

if you’re using the GP Dynamic Data options ( from the Block toolbar ) then:

1. set the DYNAMIC TEXT TYPE to Author Meta
2. in the META FIELD NAME add: email

But there is also Dynamic data built into GenerateBlocks, which can be found in the blocks sidebar. And has Author > Email in its lists of content / link sources.

hi david,

that was the first thing i tried, but it does not output anything. iam doing it like leo in the video, iam using a GP headline block and using the dynamic data option.

PS: when i enable the dynamic data in the block sidebar and choose author email it says “author not found” and also does not output anything. its working with author name and post date though … this is a GP element i hook before post right sidebar content.

PPS: ah its working now when enabling dynamic data. needed to remove the settings in the block bar first to get it to work.

Yes, only one dynamic data option can be used at a time.
As a general note, GP Element Dynamic data was introduced before GB dynamic data. Overtime we are migrating some GP specific features to GB, so in the future there will be only the one system 🙂
