I somehow disabled author archives 2 years ago, but i don’t remember how i did it. When i click on the authors name, it redirects me to the homepage.
How can i re-enable it?

If i try going to the Author link, in the browser developers tools network tab, i can see there is a 301 Redirect set that URL.
So i would assume you have either a Redirect / SEO Plugin or a custom function in either your child theme / code snippets plugin that is doing that.
