Author and publishing Date missing on Blog page + WPSP is showing too many posts

Viewing posts 1–15 of 15

Hello,

we recently got GP Premium for our site. But there are two things, that seem kind of strange:

1) Blog-Page:
Even though we checked "author" and "date" under Layout -> Blog in the Customizer the information still is missing on the blog page. Showing categories instead works (turning on and off).

2) Static homepage:
We added a block with a Shortcode from WPSP here. In the settings we limited the post to two. But no matter what number we limited it to, it shows always all four posts in the end. Is there something else we should adjust to make it work?

How can we fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

for #1)

Can you check and make sure the "author" and "date" you're changing the settings for the "Archive" tab as shown here? https://share.getcloudapp.com/6qur9vX1

If you're using Block Element - Content template for your posts, you'll have to manually add in a dynamic content to show your post meta items.

for #2)

Can you open up this topic on WPSP's support forum here - http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-show-posts

Or here - https://wpshowposts.com/support/area/pro-support/ - if you're a WPSP Pro subscriber.

Let us know. Thank you.

Hi,

yes, the setting is exactly like this for "Archive".
And we don't use Block Element – Content template as far as I know.

Hi there,

could you provide us with a temporary admin login to the site so we can take a look at whats going on ?

Yes, good idea :)

Here we go:

Hi there,

I noticed that you are using a child theme, could you activate the parent theme to test?

Let me know :)

Hi, we just enabled the parent theme, but it did not fix the problem. Feel free to play around, this is a dedicated staging environment 👍

Thank you! We set up WP-Debug, but there are no errors to be shown. To test things further, we've just set up another testing environment with a clean new WordPress copy (see private information). No plugins, debugging activated.

We installed GP Premium, chose "Donate" from the Site Library, imported the demo content and checked "Display post date" and "Display post author". However, these are still not displayed.

Thanks for your time to set up another testing environment, and the date/author not showing issue is coming from a Page header element with Disable primary post meta option activated:
https://www.screencast.com/t/SBlHJsovBPA;

This option for a page hero of blog/archive page should not have been activated, we'll disable it in this site template for future downloading. Thank you very much!

For the WPSP issue, I'm still not able to find out the cause, can you use WP reset plugin to reset the staging site, and leave it as a fresh install, don't import any template, we can have another test then.

Thanks for your patience :)

Okay, reset done... :/

Thanks for the patience and cooperation :)

Now in this new environment, can you try to add WPSP list to a page? Let me know how it functions.

ok

When I tried to add a new page, there was an error.

I wonder if any changes were made in the parent theme accidentally to cause the issue.

So I reuploaded GP theme and replaced the one that was there on your site.

Now everything is working fine in both parent theme and child theme :)
