[Support request] Astra to GeneratePress – What happens to Astra Templates/Blocks

Hello,
I use generatepress on two of my other sites. I really want to switch my main site from Astra Pro w/ KadenceBlocks Pro to just GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks Pro.

I have over 200 posts. What happens when I deactivate Astra and KadenceBlocks and make the switch? I am not worried about headers / footers, I want to know what happens to the actual posts where I built them with Astra Template Library sections and KadenceBlock premade sections? Does the content loose formatting?

Hi Blair,

Any layout settings/formatting created through your theme – Astra will most likely be removed/not work anymore once you switch themes.

Blocks created through KadenceBlocks plugin should still work though.

So, if you switch themes, you’ll likely need to recreate the sections created through Astra.

You can test this out first by creating a staging site to be safe.
