Archive Templates

Hi,

Right now the posts that show up in the archive pages and search results have the following format:

-title
-featured image
-excerpt

is there any ways to modify the template so that it has the following format:

-featured image
-title
-excerpt

I did try to do it with css but couldn't manage to do it (with my limited knowledge) and wonder if it would be easier to do with changing the template.
