Something is eluding me. I created a Block Elements and on the right side, chose Element Type = Content Template. In Location, I chose All Archives. This should make all categories to choose thie Block Element view correct? The Blog Element is using Query loop to display all posts.

Publishing has indeed update the Archive Layout but the 3 columns are squished and overlaying each other. I have disabled all plugins except or GP Pro, GB and GB Pro. Any ideas what might be causing this? Also cleared all cache as well. Wonder if anyone else ran into this “squishing” issue?

I have a feeling Content Template is not the way to target Query loop to take over an Archive Template. Maybe my question should be, where is that video tutorial to build out an Archive Template using a Block Element. Pretty sure I have done this before somewhere! Thank you.

    Hi Ian,

Here’s the article with regards to using a Content Element – Block Element: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/

There are also a couple of sample videos in the article showing how to create one.

For archive pages, solely a Content Element should be used, not a Content Template with a Query block inside. Doing so will result in a loop with a loop causing duplicates.

Hope this clarifies! If you’re referring to something else, kindly let us know. Perhaps you can link us to the page in question as well.

Thanks Fernando! I think that sorted things out. NO QUERY LOOP for Archive Templates lol. Another mystery solved!
