Hi there,
I’m using GiveWP and wanting to create my own archive page for their plug-in. I’m just unsure if I need to use their archive php file or yours?
If yours can you tell me what file I need to copy into the child theme?
Many thanks
Rob
Hey Rob,
I'm not familiar with GiveWP at all and not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve here.
Have you checked with their support team first for their suggestions?
If they can provide the instruction to do this in a Twenty series WP standard theme environment, the same steps should apply to GP.
Thanks Leo.
I’ll check with them. It’s just a basic CPT archive page, so featured image, title and link to post. I’ve tried using the Block builder thing but it’s not working.
I’ll ask their support.
Hi GP Support,
So I’ve been testing this with givewp support.
If I copy their CPT archive file into the root of GP Parent theme, works perfectly. As soon as it’s in Child Theme folder it’s like GP is ignoring it.
I have a plug-in that shows what file is being rendered and it’s showing as archive.php. When it’s in GP Parent theme it’s showing as archive-give_forms.php.
Is there anything you can suggest as I’m just being past to each other support here.
This is the file I’m using.
Hi Rob,
How is the CPT being added?
Moreover, with the Child Theme activated, if you go to Appearance > Theme File Editor, do you see archive-give_forms.php?
Kindly let us know.
