Hi team,
I started using generate press together with the plugin WP Fastest Cache and it worked great, the site speed was absolutely amazing. After a few months I suddenly realized that my page was broken, nothing looked correct. I started deactivating the plugins to check which one caused the trouble and realized, that the problem was caused by WP Fastest Cache. I tried deinstalling and reinstalling, but the problem was still there. So I tried another caching plugin, but in fact the same problem appeared with that. I have tried about 3-4 caching plugins, but whenever I activate it, it breaks my page, so I am not sure, that the problem is with the individual caching plugin. The problem first occurred last year November. I was hoping, someone would experience similar problems and there would be a fix available, but still no success. Do you have any idea for me what to do with this?
Thank you so much.
Regards

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you share a link to the site where i can see the issue with the plugin cache enabled ?

Have you tried WPRocket, or checked if the issue is your hosting’s cache?

Apologies for the late response, I had a family emergency.
the site is https://stitchnstudy.com, I have activated the caching plugin now. Please let me know, when I can deactivate it, or if you require anything else.Thank you so much for looking into this.

Apologies for the late reply. Yes, I tried also WPRocket. I am not aware that my host provides me the option to make any caching changes (all-inkl.com).
Thank you so much for looking into this.

StaffCustomer Supporthi there,
Have you tried purging and/or resetting the plugin’s settings?
Perhaps, do a process of elimination among the activated features of the caching plugin to see what’s causing it?
Try with everything disabled and enable the plugin’s features one by one and see what’s causing it. 😀
It’s also worth a try contacting the plugin’s support if they have any pointers on what to do w/ the errors on your site.

Hi, yes, I tried resetting and also a few other caching plugins. I also was in contact with WpFastestCache support, but that wasn’t helpful either. Also, because the Problem is the same with any caching plugin I suspected it is less of a Problem with the individual plugin.

StaffCustomer SupportLooking at the errors on your site, there seems to be an issue w/ SSL as well.
It seems like SSL was added after you’ve installed the plugins because some assets are being requests from HTTP:// instead of https://
You may have to regenerate some CSS and do a Better Search and Replace for these URLs to fix some issues.

Thank you for the advise, I realized that when opening my site with Chrome the lock in the adress bár is there, but it is not when opening with internet Explorer. I am afraid I dont know how to regenerate CSS replace URL. I guess I will just deactivate the cache plugin 🙁

So, I have reinstalled WP Fastest Cache now (again) and now, when turned on, it doesn’t ruin the site, however regarding speed it didn’t make the site any faster, so to me it seems now, that the cache is not really working, hence neither faster, nor broken page…. I’ll try again with WP Fastest Cache. Thank you

StaffCustomer SupportAt that point, I believe the next step to improving the site’s performance is image optimization.
The page is image-heavy. Consider compressing uploaded images. Plugins like Smush or Optimole can help w/ that. 😀
