[Resolved] another element not showing on Home page.

Hi, I’ve read the other topics about “elements not appearing on home page” and I am not sure if what I am experiencing has the same causes.

I have set WP to
Your homepage displays
A static page (select below):
Home

I have a default sidebar, created using widgets as usual in WP.
I have also created a “Test sidebar” element in GP which I eventually only want on my Home page.

If have set the Location rule for “Test sidebar” to two pages:
testsidebar
Home

“Test sidebar” elements appears fine on the testsidebar page, but the default sidebar still appears on the Home page. In my test it looks very much like the “Test sidebar” Element would appear on any page which is NOT the Home page. It just would not show up on the Home page; it did show in every other page I tested.

If I make a page that was showing “Test sidebar” correctly into a Home page in WP, and make sure the Location Rule to show “Test sidebar” on that page, it will still incorrectly show the default sidebar.

I suppose a way round this, in this case, is to make the Default sidebar, which uses widgets etc, to suit the Home Page and only use sidebars build using GP Elements for the sidebars for other pages?

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

in your Element Display Rules change the Home Location to Front Page ( at the top of list )

Many thanks David. Changed to Front Page and that worked fine. I am a happy bunny again… 🙂
BTW, to anyone else who needs this Front Page is not listed after selecting Pages in Location Rule. Look under General section in list of locations for Front Page.
