    Hi Christiano,

    The page you linked is a static page built with WP query loop block.
    The customizer option should work.

    If it doesn’t work, can you check if you are using the custom excerpt in the post editor?

    Let me know!

    Sorry Ying but… How can I check if I am using the custom excerpt in the post editor?

    Hi Christiano,

    It can be checked in the Page/Post settings: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/excerpt-issues/

    I am not sure to understand well what information are you trying to have… πŸ˜…

    Anyway:
    – I ever insert a custom excerpt in every blog post that I write;
    – All the blog posts are in “standard” format;
    – I do not use “more tag”.

    Are these the informations that you need?

    – I ever insert a custom excerpt in every blog post that I write;

    Do you mean never?

    If so, that’s very weird, as the excerpt doesn’t match the content of the article, it looks like you are using the custom excerpt.

    Can you provide an admin login using the private info field so we can take a look at the backend?

    No, no… I mean every single time. Before publishing a blog post I always put my excerpt. πŸ˜…

    I created the user for you, the credentials are in another reply.

    Thanks a lot for your efforts Ying! ☺️

    Oh, I see, you are using a custom excerpt.

    In that case, it will show all the content you entered in the custom excerpt field, and it can not be controlled by the word count, unfortunately.

    You’ll have to edit the custom excerpt.

    Or give this PHP snippet a try:

    Adding PHP: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-php/

    Hi Ying, I tried your solution but it doesn’t work… Maybe because I am not using Elementor? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

    What else can I do?

    THANKS! ☺️

    Elementor has nothing to do with this πŸ™‚

    How did you add the PHP snippet? And what’s the word limit you set in the customizer?

    Hi Ying, nice to meet you again. πŸ˜ƒ

    I followed the instructions provided.
    – installed Code Snippets plugin
    – created a new snippet with the provided PHP
    – activated it

    If this is the word limit: ( ‘excerpt_length’, 55 ) … I tried some different numbers but with no appreciable display differences…

    Doctor Ying, whats the problem? ☺️

    It will use the value set for Excerpt word count at customizer > layout > blog, what’s the value you’ve set there?

    #2363671
    Christiano

    I checked and it was set at 250 words… I changed the value but nothing has happened.

    I noticed this note “This page is using a Page Hero Element. Some of the options below may not apply.”. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

    THANKS! πŸ€—

    Hi Christiano,

    Can you provide temporary admin login credentials? We’ll check your custom excerpt and posts and see why the code isn’t working?

    Please use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information
