Bob
I am looking to build an adventure travel website, and I’m a bit overwhelmed with all of the choices for the theme.
Can you please suggest maybe three GeneratePress themes that are popular for travel websites?
I would appreciate it.
Regards,
Bob

StaffCustomer SupportHi Bob,
I feel like a lot of our templates can be suitable for this.
Can you provide an example of what you’d like to achieve? That should help us to narrow down the suggestion.
Let me know 🙂

I am completely overhauling an adventure travel website I took down from the Internet a few years ago. Following is a temporary URL where you can see what I’m working with. The site is a bit broken as I rebuild it, but you can click through the navigation.
https://atm.nobledirectmarketing.com/
You can see that I’m making an adventure travel guide (a resource for adventure travelers) that focuses on rating destinations, adventure activities and providing travel resources. I will also have an extensive blog.
Following are websites of successful adventure travel blogs that I like.
https://www.theblondeabroad.com/
https://www.adventureinyou.com/
I hope that helps you to steer me in the right direction.
Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.

After doing some digging, it appears that the following two websites are using GeneratePress and a template from the site library.
Can you tell me which templates from your site library they’re using?
And any other information you can give me about how they built their sites (homepages) with the tools that come with GeneratePress would be greatly appreciated.
Also, do I need any other plugins in addition to Generate Blocks in order to use Generate Blocks?
Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

StaffCustomer Supportit appears that the following two websites are using GeneratePress and a template from the site library.
How did you know that? The first one doesn’t look like a site library import and the second site is definitely not a import (it’s build with Elementor).
The main tools you need are GenerateBlocks and WP Show Posts.
The container blocks of GenerateBlocks allow you to split up the page into different sections.
WP Show Posts allows you to display posts in static pages.
I would recommend watching a video or two on our YouTube channel to get a hang of how GB works:

I went to a website that claims to be able to determine the theme that is being used for a given website.
https://www.wpthemedetector.com/
According to them, the two websites I mentioned are using GeneratePress. I would send screenshots, but don’t see how to do that here.
Maybe their technology for determining a websites theme isn’t very good.
I’ll watch the video you suggested above.

StaffCustomer SupportThose two sites are indeed using GeneratePress but they are not using a site library import.
Not everyone imports a site from our site library.
Let me know if this makes sense 🙂

That makes sense, Leo.
I’m just trying to find shortcuts to building a website that I like based on what I see others doing.
I’m not a very technically minded person, so I’m trying to find a “template” approach to where I get the kind of structure that works for me while going through as few learning curves as possible.
Below in the “Plugin” related section from the WP Theme Detector, they list “Generatepress Site Library.” That’s what made me think they were using a template from the Site Library.
So, maybe they just that part wrong. Or, maybe these websites have access to the Site Library, but aren’t actually using one of the templates from it. I don’t know.
Like I said, I’m just trying to get ideas for the kind of website I want without any unnecessary learning curves.
Thanks for your help, Leo. I appreciate it.

StaffCustomer SupportMy recommendation here would be to spend some more time going through the available templates in our site library page and try your best to imagine your content in them 🙂

Question: If a template in your site library says that it uses the GenerateBlocks plugin, does that mean that the free version of the plugin will have enough capability to do everything necessary, or is the upgrade to the Pro version required?

StaffCustomer SupportHi Bob,
If the template uses GB, then it means GB free.
We haven’t built any templates using GB Pro yet. 🙂

I would like to try out different templates from your site library to see how they look with my content.
Question: are there any technical ramifications if I try one of your templates and then switch to another, or is it as easy as switching back and forth between different versions of the standard WordPress themes?
I’m wondering if there is code that will conflict when going from one template to another and maybe cause problems that would affect how my content renders on my website.
Your thoughts?
