adsense with hooks(i want to learn more about hooks)

how would i add adsense to site with hooks?
would this option be better than adding the code in text widget for side bar?
You would simply paste the code given to you by Google into one of the hooks - then the ad will appear.
Very similar to using text widgets - if you're going to place your ads in the sidebar or footer area, text widgets are the way to go.
If you're going to place them inside the content, above the header etc.. then hooks are the way to go.
Definitely depends on where you're wanting to place them :)
