Adjusted menu height not working

Today I bought the premium version of the template and i ran into one thing: adjusting the height of the menu doesn't work when I change this at the settings. By default, the height is 60px and I changed it to 45px. I also adjusted this setting at sticky navigation.
When I call the site in the browser I see a menu of 60px. When I scroll down at the bottum and then up again the sticky navigation shows a height of 45px which is good. But when I am at the top of the site agian, the menu shows a height of 60px.
I am using a child theme. When i dissable the child theme it works.
How can I fix this so that the menu is always 45px high on the child theme?
Or is a child theme not necessary?

Thanks for thre reply. I had to remove the import function in the function.php and then it worked.
