Additional CSS stopped working

Hi there,

I've been customizing my website in the "Additional CSS" area for years without any issue.

Recently, I saw that it stopped deploying the code to the live site.

NOTE: The CSS is working if I'm logged in. I can see any change I make once I clear the cache.

The problem occurs if I visit the site anonymously from an Incognito window, my phone, or another computer.

HISTORY

I've been using WP Rocket for about 4 months now without an issue and haven't activated any new plug-in recently.

It's probably a combination of reasons due to recent updates but can't figure out where to look.

SETUP

Some of the changes I've made were in the "General" tab. There is to be a FLEX option which is not there anymore. It helped with the Page Speed score.

Now my setup is:
- Inline Embedding
- SVG
- Cache dynamic CSS - Enabled

I've tried turning them on and off but with no success.

Hope you can point me in the right direction...

Thank you!

Hi there,

can you share a link to a page where the CSS is not working ? And let me know what has an incorrect style.

Hello David,

Yes, sure!

For example in this page: https://reikiscoop.com/reiki-articles/

The separator should have one border not two. Again, I can see this properly in the Admin section.

Also, not only here, but the H2 is bolded and centered. In this case, the "empty-rectangle-box" class also has a border around it.

If you go further, the articles also show the H2s aligned to the left and without the bold attribute.

Things like this, nothing major but I don't know why this happened and can't seem to find what's blocking them.

Ok - so if i check the site with WP Rocket disabled ( by adding ?nowprocket query string to URL ) - then i can see the CSS.
So the issue is somewhere amongst WP Rockets settings.

It could be one of the many caches it uses - i believe you can set caches for different users - they may need clearing.
And in tandem with that it could be one of its options - i noticed the Used CSS option is enabled on the site... i believe thats still a beta thing and we see a lot of users losing stuff with that enabled.

That's indeed the problem.

With the "Optimize CSS delivery" option disabled everything is back to normal.

It was probably the latest update that did something, because it worked well before.

I've also tested Page Speed and even if related notices occur, the overall score is around 98. We'll watch its progress but for now everything is good.

Thanks so much for helping out and on such short notice.

Appreciate it!

You're welcome
