Additional CSS Keeps Vanishing

All of the additional CSS setup in the customizer has vanished TWICE. This includes all the default CSS that GeneratePress adds. I'm not using a child-theme. I just have a few lines of additional CSS but it has vanished twice overnight.

No changes have been made to the site to cause this.

Hi there,

when you say vanished - is it missing from the Customzier > Addtional CSS field entirely ?

That's correct.

The first time I added a category and published a post to this new category. I published the post then checked the page live and noticed styling was missing.

The second time I just published a post and again went to check it.

All additional CSS was stripped from the page. I then went onto the customizer and noticed the whole additional css field was blank. It was missing all styling including the custom CSS that generatepress added when I installed the theme.

Aside from the server loading a backup version the only time that this would happen is if the Theme was changed - if the GP Theme is still active then the CSS should still be in place.

The only other potential issue is browser caching.
If for example you had two browser windows open with the Customizer left open in one where changes have been made and another post in view theres a chance if you go to the Customizer from the Post you will get a cached instance of the old customizer settings.... but thats a very odd and rare occurence it could happen.

Yeh baffled too... It's happened twice now without me having multiple tabs open so I'm not sure what's going on. I didn't know if it was related to WP updating and you'd heard of similar issues.

I've saved the additional CSS offline as a text doc for now as it's far quicker to backup that way. Let's just hope it doesn't happen again!

If it does happen again - check with your host to see if theres any errors in the logs.
Fingers crossed!
