Adding widget under primary navigation

Is it possible, to add a widget under the primary navigation so that i can add a picture slideshow over the normal posts?

I believe you are looking for the page header add-on: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-header-overview/
I would assume the sliders come with the shortcode which you can use the page header content to add it: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-header-content/
