Adding social icons using shortcode underneath featured image

Hello,

I'd like to place social media icons for sharing purposes underneath the featured image of each of my blog posts. I've tried doing this with Simple Social Icons (https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-social-icons/) using their shortcode [simple-social-icons] (https://genesisclubpro.com/9222/simple-social-icons-shortcode/), but it only displays the shortcode on the post.

Is Simple Social Icons supported by the GeneratePress theme? If not, is there another one that is? Otherwise, what am I doing wrong?
