[Support request] Adding Search Box in Home Page Header

I am looking at adding a search function to my homepage header that I would like to look like this: https://www.nomadicmatt.com/
I am not using a pagebuilder and would prefer not to use a plugin if I can avoid it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Have you played with the Top Bar widget area in “Appearance > Widgets”?

You should be able to add a Search widget in there.

Thanks Tom But I actually want it in the header as an overlay like in the example 🙂
I know he has it in two places but I would like the functionality he uses as an overlay on the hero image.
