Adding menu to the footer

Hello,
We need 3-4 menus for our theme -- inhouse knowledgebase. Can you provide instructions for how to add these. Have tried to register in functions.php and then call via a hook in GP hooks but is not working.

It's quite complicated though. You may be better off using the "Custom Menu" widget, and then using CSS to style them to look the way you like :)
